Blood Sweat Drum + Bass did not really exist when they were asked to play at the 75th year anniversary of the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus, Denmark.
The orchestra had performed a single show the year before but that was supposed to be it. Now they found themselves rehearsing for two concerts because of a demand from the audience.
Aarhus International Jazz Festival was the other who wished to bring Blood Sweat Drum + Bass back on stage.
The thought of being a big band on a permanent basis started to form but would that be possible? 27 people playing contemporary music? Of course not!
The idea was put aside until fate in 2003 came around to tell them otherwise.
